Hi Kali, a friend and myself are about to book this trip. Glad to see there will be a few Aussies on board. We've heard good things about this trip and are getting pretty excited.

We've now managed to pressure another mate into coming with us. I'm travelling with a seasoned pro and a complete newbie. We will be joining you guys in Paris, and then staying on in London afterwards. Starting to count the weeks- getting excited

ainsley - -- my mate, the seasoned pro, doesnt feel the cold- so only packs unusually light. she just relaxes and lets the tour take over- ensuring she has wallet, passport and phone (for the occasional message home) and she's good. i over packed way too much for the UK last year. We will have lots of opportunities to wash, so other pro friends have told me, so only need a few outfits. Take things you can layer, if it gets cold.

Hi, I'm so excited that there are people commenting on this trip now! {Smile}
I'm getting into London on the 4th of august, as I'm doing the britain and ireland tour first. That tour finishes on the 18th. Will probably be at Wombats from the 18th or 19th {Smile} I'm staying an extra day after the mega european then heading back home. It feels really soon {Smile} especially since my travel begins at the start of august. {Smile} how much spending money are most people planning on?

Ainsley - yes to washing powder. one good warm jacket would be good for the alps and the chilly nights at the end of the trip- some parts of Switzerland have snow even in summer. i personally like the London Eye- some greats views, friends have said they loved Madame Tussauds, you'll need a few hours for Tower of London (definitely take a free Beefeater tour), Trafalgar Square (sit and people watch).
Shannon - this could get confusing... are you staying on at Wombats in London? we haven't decided yet.
Kali - me and my mate are thinking about 2000Euro but also taking the credit card, our other friend is taking little cash, some on a cash card and mostly using her credit card.

hey guys so some of the hotels i've been suggested that are cheapest for your own room (can have own bathroom) are Shakespeare Hotel and Alexandra hotel. otherwise there are a few hostels that do offer private rooms with shared bathrooms. One of my friends showed me this site where you can also hire out rooms from people's house https://www.airbnb.com.au/

Thanks Ainsley, I'll check out those hotels, I don't think I'll book anything yet though, have a few friends around London so if they're in the area I'll crash with them. So I'll probably just work in out when I'm in London haha. My brother did air BnB all through America and said its great! It's a good option! {Smile}
