Hey Guys! I just booked this tour and I'm amazed at how many Aussies we seem to have. I'm travelling solo so I'm looking forward to meeting you all soon, not long to go now.
Now to figure out what to pack... {Tongue Out}

great to have you along mate... apparently thee are only 5 seats left so hopefully more people decide to have a chat as well soon.. maybe we need like a fb page or something... yeah deciding what to pack is painful.. lol coz for the tour we are only allowed 20kg but on the flights we are allowed 30kg.. hopefully they don't mind us racking up the weight as we travel collecting stuff

Is it 20kg limit on the tour? Alrighty, note to self don't shop too much in America pre Europe tour, haha.

Each person is allowed 1 item of standard size luggage (backpacks only on a Camping trip) plus a day pack (and sleeping bag if required – see above). The maximum weight of your main bag must not exceed 44lbs/20kgs. Size for all bags must not exceed 70cm x 45cm x 25cm. Due to strict weight regulations for coaches in Europe, passengers whose luggage exceeds 44lbs/20kgs may be asked to offload the excess on the departure morning. In this scenario, Topdeck will not cover any storage costs which are incurred.

this is under the FAQ's for europe.. my luggage is like 70 x 47 x 28 but from i've read on the other posts people have made it should be fine as long as its under 20kgs... im aiming to get it around 14-16 (the fn thing weighs 4kg itself) leaving plenty of space for shopping

I haven't read any of that stuff, thankfully you are prepared and sharing your wisdom haha. I'll have to measure mine later, mine is pretty small so I should be fine, planning to pack as light as possible because the thought of lugging around a heavy suitcase for 6 months doesn't sound fun at all!

Oh don't freak out at all. Travelling solo is great, plus you meet so many new friends! {Smile}
I'm going to LA, Alaska and Canada before the tour starts. Then afterwards staying in London for a little bit, then Turkey and Singapore... Then I guess I'll come home! Haha.

Glad to hear that our bus will be packed out. Starting to get excited and plan a few of the sites we want to see. We'll see you all in Paris!

Hi All!

Myself and my girlfriend cant wait, we are getting to London a few days earlier before the tour begins as well then staying in Amsterdam for an extra 2 days at the end before heading for a 10 day Morocco tour. I thought we were the only crazy ones extending our trip, seems several of us are going all out! Fantastic

The countdown is well and truly on now, only 60 days until I leave, yay!
Looking forward to meeting you all!
Are you staying in the same place that the tour begins/finishes Ainsley?
Haven't even looked into booking anything yet, ha I'll deal with that when I'm there!

nah i'm staying at the Shakespeare hotel in london near hyde park.. wanted something with my own room.. its not really anything special or rated highly but it was the cheapest in the area i wanted by over $200 for the 4 nights. prices have risen since i last looked a few months ago. {Sad}

i still have 79 days till i start my holidays {Sad}

Yeah prices will probably just keep rising now, I'm looking into an air bnb in the same area as the Shakespeare hotel. Whether I book it or just wait, I haven't decided yet haha. My friend stayed in Paddington and said it's a lovely area. My last time in London I stayed right in Piccadilly Circus so thinking a different area this time! 79 days isn't that long, it will go super quickly!
