yeah airbnb is waay cheaper and hopefully the prices dont go up though ey. i was going to book later but then when i found out prices had risen and there weren't many spare rooms in my budget left i just went nd booked it.. i dunno but for me i think id feel weird sleeping in some randoms house..

was hard deciding on the area to stay in but i was like hyde park area seems good.. (friends have told me good things about paddington as well) has a park to relax nd also near madame Tussaud as well which i want to visit..also booked my harry potter tour for the 14th of October yippee.

I booked the airbnb, hopefully I'll be fine sleeping in a random couples house haha.
Biggest dilemma now: WHAT TO PACK! Worst thing about travelling, packing my life into suitcase!

ah nice where abouts? yeah its more like id feel bad coming back at random hours of the morning and having to be worried about noise... you have much planned to do in london yet?

And yeah i'm finding it tough on deciding what to pack as well and yet you will have it worse packing for even longer.. the difficult thing is the difference between the luggage allowances from our airlines and then what we can take on the tours.

everyone is like just pack light you can always buy there from like op shops etc.. but then that means you have to waste more money nd time...

It's in Paddington, I think about 5 minutes from Paddington station.
Uh, nope! No plans for London. I've been there before, so I'll probably take it a bit easy for a few days...
But in saying that my best friend is planning to meet me in London after she finishes in Scotland/Ireland, so if she does I'm sure I won't be taking it easy at all!

Yeah I always travel light, but I've never been for this long - and to so many different weather temperatures!
I will just have to pack a lot of layering clothes I think!
If I forget stuff. It's just too bad. As long as I have something to wear and a toothbrush I'll be happy haha.

haha oh yeah a toothbrush.. the thing i'm most likely to forget would be my toiletries.

i suppose we should be used to layering and all the different weather changes considering we are from Melbourne {Wink}

Haha at least toiletries are easy and quick to buy if you do forget!
That's a very good point. I am an expert layerer... Sick of this winter business already.

I'M STARTING TO GET REALLY EXCITED NOW!
4 weeks until I start my adventure. {Smile}

I've heard a few people say that 28 degrees travel card is a good one. Personally I'm just taking my debit card, credit card and some cash. Most of my money I will be keeping in an internet account that I can just transfer out as needed... In case I lose my cards or something! (The Aussie dollar is so shit at the moment I'm not really worried about locking in the currency at the moment haha.)

Now I feel like I'm under packing... I did a really rough practice to make sure my suitcase was not too small and mine weighed in at 12.5 kilos (for 5.5 months haha)

Look forward to meeting you all very SOON! {Smile}

I love how when you log into your Topdeck personal page it tells you how long you have until your tour starts, only 8 weeks left of work til we depart Oz!

I have the 28 Degree MC, and used it a few times in the UK last year. I like how it only has a $5K limit, no transaction fees and no annual fee. The main fee people see is the ATM withdrawal.
So Im taking a bit of cash for the local/small businesses, have a cash card that I put some $ on (when the rate was a little better!) and the 28 Degree for any larger purchases. Heres hoping the dollar goes up by then {Smile}

Too scared to do a practise pack- so many climates/situations on this trip. Aiming to have it as close to 14 as possible- room for all the souvenirs.

Looks like our tour is almost booked out, getting really excited.

Also- found this blog had some helpful information about this trip

haha yeah well my actual hardcase suitcase thing weighs around 4kg so i have sim weight to you.. i have 3 pairs of shoes in there as well. a formal one (i have a wedding b4) walking shoes and casual ones for going out.. i was thinking of leaving the formal ones with a mate otherwise ditching the casual ones..

i don't really see me buying too many souvenirs.. i think most of my money will go on trying all the food haha. foodie for life.

yeah just applied for the citibank card.. but yeah that 28 degrees one has changed a bit and it says no more cash advances without fee and also a min 6000 limit.. if i get rejected i'll just get a rent to get it for me lol. but then again i suppose i don't really need it if i have the citibank card.. and if i must i can always just cop the currency conversion fees and use my existing credit card..

bhaha can't believe i just bought a selfie stick as well. oohhh the shame haha
